Some Plunderphonic discs are currently unavailable due to various copyright restrictions and constraining orders by CBS, SONY, the Canadian Recording Industry Association (CRIA), et al. However...
in response, these -> discs are being made available in cassette form on a not-for-profit basis (5 IRCs or $4. cash, self- addressed mailer + C100 cassette tape) from the following groups. Better than that, the complete plunderphonics CD is now gloriously available for downloading (44.1kHz, 16-bit)! -Justification to go out and buy your own CD Recorder. Just remember, "THIS DISC IS ABSOLUTELY NOT F OR SALE". You may have it but you may not buy it or sell it. If anyone is interested in making other soundfiles available from their websites or if you know where recordings are lurking on the net, please contact me and I will link to them from this page. | ![]() plunderphonic (72 min.) ![]() plunderphonic (elektrax) (15 min.)

MUSICWORKS has released an issue of their magazine with a long critique on the genre plunderphonics (by Chris Cutler) and a CD or cassette, Plunderphonia & Vox, with tracks adapted from Punderphonic, Discosphere and Pl exure as well as several plunderphonic examples not found elsewhere. It also includes compositions by The Residents, Christian Marclay and yours truly!
This issue was completely sold out, but Musicworks reprinted the CD and it is once again available from them. To obtain your copy of this disk, order (issue) #60 (CAN$5. print, CAN$8. cassette, CAN$10. CD, VISA accepted) from:

| T R A C K S Ludwig Van Beethoven: 7th (1988) Metallica: Net (1989) Don Van Vliet: Replica (1988) Paul McCartney: Birth (1989) Michael Jackson: Dab (1989) James Brown: Black (1989) Igor Stravinsky: Spring (1988) Dick Hyman: Fabulous (1982) |
English label Blast First secretly sent out a Christmas card/miniCD in 1994 titled "Plunderphonic" (not for sale). It features eight tracks from the original "Plunderphonic" CD and was distributed to their friends, acquaintances and interested parties.
Unfortunately, "Dab" has been edited, and close examination has revealed
these tracks are not digital clones of the originals. Still, a nice move by Blast First.

DOVentertainment released this (on CD only, of course) collection of tracks from 'all over' and includes a new version of "Brown" from Plunderphonic. This is a great CD and is well worth acquiring.
Unfortunately, it seems that DOVe has folded since the creation of this
page so the Death of Vinyl CD is no longer
available - which sort of disqualifies it from this list except that it
has not actually been BANNED. Scouring of the used CD stores may yield
positive results.
